Tropical Storm Hanna was strengthening through the afternoon and evening and Hurricane Warnings were issued for Corpus Christi. Heavy rain and dark clouds made travel difficult as updated highway signs now discourage visitors from the Lower beaches. Farming south and west of town appears to be under significant threat as farmers scramble to harvest crops before the possible hurricane. Heavy rain and gusty winds made this difficult and the harvest was stalled for some farmers with many crops still yet to be safely harvested.
