Corpus Christi TX: Nicknamed “Blue ghost” by the Japanese for its ability to reappear after reportedly being sunk. The USS Lexington was commissioned in 1943 by the US Navy and saw extensive service in the Pacific in WWII.
The location of a Japanese flag painted on the tower is where a kamikaze plane hit Nov 5 1944 killing 50.
The ship now calls Corpus Christi Texas home and is open to the public for tours.
Thanks for watching.
